The case against a house decoration manufacturer
EDR’s legal team undertook a case on behalf of a prominent European testing services company (“the Client”) that faced a dispute with a house decoration manufacturer (“the Opponent” or “Customer”). The disagreement arose when the Customer ceased communication regarding financial commitments owed to the Client for testing services rendered.
Upon identifying the responsible party within the Opponent’s company, EDR’s lawyers initiated a meeting to explore potential avenues for dispute resolution. During discussions, it became evident that the Customer was grappling with financial constraints stemming from COVID-related quarantine measures before. These challenges hindered their ability to settle debts owed to various creditors, including the Client.
In response, EDR’s legal team proposed a comprehensive debt restructuring plan designed to accommodate the interests of all involved parties. After a few weeks, the Customer initiated the first installment payment, transferring funds to the Client’s designated bank account.
This case underscored the significance of adept negotiation in resolving disputes. Establishing a constructive rapport with the Opponent proved pivotal, enabling them to honor their financial obligations to the Client while maintaining positive business relations.
